A Much Needed Vacation
Knowing that I needed a vacation more than ever, my husband convinced me to take off last Friday. How could I argue with a weekend away from work, away from the house, away from everything?
Anyways, I had the perfect excuse. My birthday is only a few weeks from now, and I was promised a weekend in St. Augustine doing whatever I wanted.
Our early Friday morning departure plan was a total bust. With the packing, changing the car’s oil, a last-minute load of laundry, a quick fight, and trying to find someone to watch our dog, we didn’t even leave town until 6:00pm! Planning just don’t work around here!
But as soon as we started driving, there was nothing but peace and happiness. St. Augustine, Florida is the oldest established city in the United States, so charm just covers the whole town, along with a nice dose of tourist trap fun.
Here are some of the pics:

We ate at the top of one of these.

Careful, it's an enemy fort.

The fort's courtyard.

Inside view of the fort.

This museum looked like a castle, just beautiful!

Courtyard of a museum.

I've never seen so many hard-working horses!

I love driving on the beach.

Some filthy birds.
